Have you herd? There’s a new girl at Horse Camp!

Hi there! I’m Ruby, the newest set of hooves at Wild West Campground & Corral and let me tell you – joining a new herd is no small trot.

I came from a quiet little barn where life was simple: a stall, a paddock and the occasional trail ride. But now? I’m in a whole new world. Wide open pastures and a dozen new faces.

When I first arrived, I was nervous. The trailer ride was long, and everything smelled different. I never lived on a campground ranch before. I stepped off and was greeted by a wall of curious eyes and twitching ears. That’s when I met PB – a tiny tornado of confidence who trotted right up to me, gave me a sniff, and said, “Stick with me, kid.” So I did.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far about my new herd:

🐴 PB – The Mischief Maker

He’s small, fast and full of opinions. He’s shown me all the best grazing spots and how to sneak an extra snack when the humans aren’t looking. I think he’s taken me under his wing… or maybe he just likes having someone to boss around.

🐴 Maggie – The Queen Bee

She’s the boss mare, and you don’t mess with her hay pile. She gave me a good long stare on day one, then went back to grazing. I think that means I passed the test.

🐴 Sonny – The Gentle Giant

He’s huge, but he’s got the kindest eyes. He let me share his shade tree during a hot afternoon, and I think that means we’re friends now.

🐴 Rain – The Diva

She’s a barrel racer and absolutely fabulous! A real celebrity!  She told me my mane was “cute in a rustic way,” which I’m pretty sure is a compliment.

🐴 Fabio – The Escape Artist

Not only can he slip out of his own halter – he’ll free his friends too! And oh boy, he is handsome with those stunning blue eyes and blonde mane.

Settling in

It’s only been a few days, but I already feel like I belong. There’s something special about herd life – about finding your place, learning the rules, and realizing that even if you’re the new pony, there’s room for you in the circle.

I’m finally ready to take guests out on trail rides with my friends, and I’m so excited to meet all the kids at our upcoming Girl’s Horse Camps this summer! I can’t wait to see how they style my mane. We still have openings for the July and August camps.

Book a stay and visit me and my new friends soon!

With love and a flick of the tail,
Ruby
